Nothing says more about the theme, the overall aura of your wedding than your choice of flowers, or as we are starting to see, the lack thereof. Going for lush and beautiful, traditional and reserved? Roses, tulips, and daisies are sure to do the trick. Want to get whimsical? Mix it up with oddly-colored, mismatched florals that blend in with your color scheme. Even cheap, yet vibrant carnations, once seen as tacky as having guests pay for their own drinks, are sprouting up. An all-natural affair? We’ve seen stalks of hay, yes hay, cleverly arranged with ribbons as centerpieces. In similar fashion, twigs are also gaining steam on the wedding scene. As centerpieces, we’re also seeing bowls of fruit; bowls of sand and seashells; and, yes, rubber duckies in bowls of water. Herbs, like pretty large-leafed basil, are also hot. Right now, anything goes. We urge you to get creative. Are you both teachers? How about a bouquet of pencils and some lovely fresh apples on the side?
